Description
Handsome fold-out Conoco travel guide and plan of the exhibit area at HemisFair '68, printed more than 46 years ago.This folder opens to 9" x 15-1/2" and has a highway map of east central Texas showing routes to San Antonio, a street plan of central San Antonio, and a locator map of exhibits, pavilions, and concessions at the International Exhibition HemisFair '68.
This folder was distributed by the Continental Oil Company in 1968, and the cartography is by H.M. Gousha. The code number in the lower margin is 9-PP.
The artwork on the front cover includes a view of the Tower of the Americas, built as the theme structure of HemisFair '68, held in San Antonio from April 6 through October 6, 1968.
It was the first officially designated world's fair (or international exposition) held in the southwest United States.
