Description

Handsome fold-out 1954 Conoco road map of Colorado, printed more than 66 years ago.
This map opens to 27" x 18" and has great detail on old road alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
On the reverse side there are inset plans of Denver, Pueblo, Trinidad, the Colorado Springs-Pikes Peak Region, and Rocky Mountain and Mesa Verde National Parks.
Among the other named places on the map are Aspen, Manitou, Durango, Walsenburg, Boulder, Grand Junction, and Cripple Creek.
The map was distributed in 1954 by the Continental Oil Company to promote its Conoco brand, and it is dated by the code number in the lower margin: BB-1. The code number on the back cover is 4541.
Small triangles on the map locate Conoco service stations throughout the state.
